GPB is proud to congratulate our winners of the 2020 GABBY Awards. We took home honors recognizing The Bitter Southerner Podcast and the work of GPB Sports’ Jon Nelson during The Georgia Association of Broadcasters’ virtual ceremony presented this past Saturday, October 24.

Sisters are doing’ it for themselves next week on GPB. We’ll meet politicians, journalists, activists and others on the frontline of the fight for justice equality. We’ll also meet some heroes down under and scientists looking outside the box for solutions to climate change.

As they say, “the show must go on,” and this year the Southeast Emmys marked the first ever virtual presentation of the program. Winners were announced Saturday evening September 12. GPB had a total of 25 nominations and seven wins this year.

Next week, we welcome a television pioneer and comedy legend to our Sunday night line-up, along with a brand new Masterpiece detective. We’ll also visit some wondrous islands and get some tips on decision making from slime, which should be very inspirational.

GPB and the Emory Brain Health Center need your help as we take an in-depth look at the human toll of opioid addiction in Georgia on a special presentation of Your Fantastic Mind on September 28.

Perhaps, not exactly “new,” but definitely noteworthy. Next week, we’ll journey back 2000 years with FRONTLINE to discover the origins of Christianity and meet the the first Christians. We’ll also take a look at the life of a beloved children’s television host who inspired kids of all ages to explore the world with kindness and imagination.
