2026 Preseason Challenge

Georgia NASEF Farmcraft® 2026: Multi-Use Ag Challenge

Students will design a Georgia-based agricultural landscape that balances competing land demands for food production, non-food crops (fiber and materials), housing, and environmental protection. Using Minecraft, students must make realistic decisions about how land is used in Georgia while considering food security, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability.

Students will build a Minecraft world that includes:

  • Georgia food crops (such as peanuts & pecans)
  • At least one non-food crop use (such as textiles)
  • Housing or infrastructure development that competes for farmland
  • Environmental protection features like buffers, wetlands, or conservation areas

The goal is not to create a “perfect” farm, but to demonstrate systems thinking and an understanding of how land-use decisions impact people, the economy, and the environment in Georgia.
