The Hebron Christian flag football team is trying to get past last year's early playoff exit and add to the school's championship legacy.

Four teams ranked among the top five in their respective classifications were beaten to further muddle the playoff picture.

With three weeks left in the regular season the GPB rankings are showing fewer changes. 

It's been a crazy stretch in Class A Division A -- and the rankings reflect the equity and uncertainty.

It's been five years since this Middle Georgia school has been in the rankings and 52 years since its last 6-0 start.

Fellowship Christian will try to knock off a defending state champion for the second straight week when it travels to play Hebron Christian on Friday in Dacula. It is one of five prominent games to watch in Week 2 of the GHSA season. 

The preseason GPB rankings look very similar to the way they finished last year.

Four girls teams will try to defend their state titles when the GHSA holds its championships at the Macon Coliseum. Grayson, Maynard Jackson, Baldwin and Hebron Christian are out to make it two in a row. 

Stallworth, Caldwell pile on the yardage as Hebron Christian beats Prince Avenue to win its first state championship. 

Prince Avenue Christian and Hebron Christian, two teams from the same region, will meet to decide the first GHSA Private school championship. 

The presence of multiple dual-sport athletes has helped propel the Hebron Christian flag football team into the state playoffs.

The Riverwood boys won their first state championship, beating defending champion Alexander in overtime, to highlight the third day of the GHSA basketball championships in Macon. The Hebron Christian girls and Sandy Creek boys successfully defended their titles in Class 3A and the Marist girls won their second state crown.

Three teams won their first state championship on Day 3, while Hebron Christian added to its haul.

Basketball coverage is back at Georgia Public Broadcasting. After 6 seasons, GPB Sports will once again air the boys, girls, and adapted sports GHSA Championship games across all classifications. The coverage also includes 3-point contests and a boys slam dunk competition. All games will take place March 8-11 at the Macon Centreplex in Macon, GA.
