DeKalb County Media Day is like waving the green flag on football season… it’s go time! DCSD puts on one of the first high school football media days in the state and it signifies that we’re only a month away from turning on the Friday night lights.

It’s been a whirlwind of a summer for Shaw High School football coach Blair Harrison. He began Memorial Day weekend as the Raiders offensive coordinator, but things quickly changed after news broke that former coach Al Pellegrino had passed away from a heart attack while on vacation with his family.

Over half the GHSA's high schools now have a girls flag football team and more plan to sign up before the season begins in October. The newest GHSA sport is exploding with popularity. So, fans will be happy to know that GPB Sports' is adding live streaming of weekly regular season games, a season opening tournament in addition to its televised coverage of the state championships.

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters.

The Georgia High School Association celebrated its newest state championship sport on Monday and Calvary Day of Savannah and West Forsyth brought home the first trophies for flag football.

The finalists have been determined for GHSA’s first Flag Football Championships, which will open the three-day parade of title games at Georgia State’s Center Parc Stadium.
