Make That Kid An Offer

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Here are our nominees this week.

 

Austin Knapp, Greater Christian School, CB, JR

Knapp is a 5’8” 145 LBS Cornerback at Georgia Christian School. He is one of the best tacklers on the team and he is the biggest overall player as well - often volunteering himself to play a spot he does not usually play. Knapp has 25 tackles, four forced fumbles, one recovered fumble and one pick-6 on the season!

Bryson Taylor, Mill Creek, DB, SR

Taylor is a 6’2” 175 LBS Defensive Back at Mill Creek High School. Aside from football, he also players varsity basketball. Taylor runs a 4.5 in 40, has a total of three varsity interceptions, and many pass deflections and tackles. Off the field, he has a 3.14 GPA and scored 1150 on the SAT. Currently, Taylor has 3 offers from the University of New Mexico, Houston Baptist University, and Presbyterian College. He is looking for all the opportunities he can get!

Jett Miller, Wesleyan School, QB, SR

Miller is a 6’1” 160 LBS Quarterback at Wesleyan School. He has a 68% completion rate, with 1300 YDS and 11 passing TD’s. Miller was recognized as player of the week in Gwinnett. He maintains a 3.8 GPA.

Brandon High, Coffee County, MLB, SR

High is a 6’0” 220 LBS Middle Linebacker at Coffee County High School. He has 82 tackles, five tackles, six sacks, nine quarterback hurries and three pass break ups. Not only is High dominant on the football field, but he was also recognized as the 2020 Wrestling Region Champion in the 220 LBS weight class. In his free time, he enjoys helping with the younger kids at wrestling camps and playing video games with his brother and teammates.

Austin Starr, Mary Persons, OL, SR

Starr is a 6’2” 260 LBS Offensive Lineman at Mary Persons High School. For the past two years he has been selected as an All-Region player and this season he was selected as a Pre-Season All-State player. He has a 3.9 GPA and scored a 1080 on the SAT.

Cameron DeBose, St. Pius, OLB, SR

DeBose is 6’1” 192 LBS Offensive Linebacker at St. Pius Catholic High School. He made the varsity team as a freshman and sat behind a senior on a state championship-caliber team. In Debose’s sophomore year, he started at Safety and then OLB. Despite only playing five games due to an injury, he still made Second-Team All-Region. In Debose’s junior year he was a starter on defense but ended up tearing his hip flexor causing him to miss six games - he still made Second-Team All-Region. This year, even after getting attention, he fractured his ankle in the fourth game of the season and ended up missing three more games in his crucial senior year. He currently has interest ranging from Georgia Tech to Navy.

Bryce Bothwell, Mill Creek, NG/ OG, JR

Bothwell is a 6’2” 275 LBS Nose Guard/ Offensive Guard at Mill Creek High School. He is a versatile player that was brought up to varsity as a freshman. During his sophomore year he was a starter at Offensive Guard and now as a Junior he is a starter on defense as a Nose Guard. Outside of football, Bothwell has participated in discus/shot put in both his freshman and sophomore years. He made it to sectionals last year with state on his mind for Junior year. Off the field, Bothwell is very active in NG3, where fellowship and helping those in need are front and center. He is looking to further his education possibly in the engineering field along with playing football at the next level.

Seth Reece, Fannin County, QB, SR

Reece is a 6’4” 210 LBS Quarterback at Fannin County High School. His measurables include a bench max of 290, squat max of 390, power clean max of 305 and a 4.82 40-yard dash. Reese’s total yards are 788 rushing, 578 passing, 141 receiving and 19 total TD’s according to MaxPreps. Off the field, he maintains a 3.6 GPA and scored a 1060 on the SAT.
