These skills will help families understand what children have already learned and can expect to learn as they enter a new grade level. These are meant to be guides since every student learns at his or her own pace. Teachers will be ready to meet students where they are when they reach a new grade level.

The “Getting Ready” video lessons below feature PreK-5 Georgia teachers breaking down the skills on the Getting Ready Guides while suggesting practical tips for out-of-school learning. They provide insights from “what they see” as students come back to school in August. A primary goal of the videos is to support families and summer educators in preparing for the upcoming school year.
