The Atlanta Veteran’s Affairs office is renamed for late U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson

The Atlanta Veteran’s Affairs office has a new name honoring a late U.S. senator and veteran from Georgia. The Senator Johnny Isakson Department of Veterans Affairs Atlanta Regional Office in Decatur, Ga., was renamed Monday after a two-year process led by U.S. Sens. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) and Roy Blunt (R-Mo.).

U.S. Senate passes bill to rename VA Atlanta regional office for Johnny Isakson

On July 27, 2022, the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan bill to rename the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Atlanta Regional Office in honor of the late Georgia U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson. The legislative effort was led by Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO).
