Southwire is investing $95 million and expanding in Carroll County.

Southwire, the nation’s largest wire and cable producer, is expanding its facilities and will be creating nearly 375 jobs over the next four years investing $95 million. They are headquartered in Carroll County.

They have purchased a 144,000 square-foot facility in Villa Rica and currently have a contract on Sony Music’s 635,000 square-foot facility in Carrollton. The company manufactures utility cable for the housing industry nationwide along with being a wire and cable supplier to the utility and construction markets.

“Southwire continues to expand its presence within Georgia,” said Gov. Nathan Deal. “This homegrown company was founded here decades ago, and its growth in Georgia reflects the advanced skills of our dedicated workforce as well as its overall satisfaction with our business-friendly environment.”
