Third nuclear reactor reaches 100% power output at Georgia's Plant Vogtle

A new reactor at a nuclear power plant in Georgia has reached its full power output for the first time. Georgia Power Co. announced Monday that Unit 3 at Plant Vogtle has reached its full output of 1,100 megawatts of electricity.

State regulators approve $1.8B Georgia Power rate increase

The Georgia Public Service Commission approved a $1.8 billion Georgia Power Co. rate increase Tuesday, raising rates by 12% over three years. The move came after four commissioners tweaked a settlement between the utility and commission staff to give the company more of what it wanted.

Georgia Power deal sets $1.8B rate increase over 3 years

Georgia Power Co. and regulatory staff have reached an agreement that would give the electric utility a $1.8 billion rate increase over three years. That's a little above the midpoint between the $2.9 billion that the electric utility proposed and the $529 million that staff said was justified.
