James Harrison, whose blood donations saved over 2 million babies, has died

Harrison, whose plasma contained a rare antibody, rolled up his sleeve 1,173 times from 1954 to 2018. The Australian is credited with helping 2.4 million babies and advancing scientific research.

Augusta chairman confident Masters will go on as club focuses on community recovery from Helene

Masters chairman Fred Ridley says Augusta National sustained a lot of damage from Hurricane Helene, just like the rest of the area. Ridley is in Japan for the Asia-Pacific Amateur. He says he's confident the Masters will go on as scheduled the second full week in April.

Red Cross rescues Smyrna residents from homes after flash floods

The Greater Atlanta American Red Cross Chapter responded on the night of Tuesday, July 24, after several individuals had to be water-rescued from their homes following fast flooding at Coopers Creek Circle in Smyrna, Ga., in the metro Atlanta area.

Red Cross declares an emergency blood shortage, as number of donors hits 20-year low

The number of people donating blood has dropped 40% over the last two decades, according to the Red Cross. Severe winter weather and illnesses could make an already bad situation even worse, it says.
