Last week marked the start of another exciting high school football season in Georgia.

At Marist High School, Alan Chadwick has been the head coach for 33 seasons. One coach. 33 teams. That’s what I would call a pretty good run. And it gets better.

It happened Week Zero (or Week One, depending on your perspective)

The winning teams were not necessarily a shock, but the final scores were expected to be much closer..

During the offseason, the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) considered implementing new regulations aimed at discouraging student athletes from transferring to other schools – but that idea was tabled until next year.

There were 105 coaching changes this year, an all -time high. It would be like writing "War and Peace" to chronicle all, but a few stand out.

If I was in charge of high school football in the state of Georgia here’s what I would do about transfers: Absolutely Nothing. Cheating on the other hand, I would punish harshly. Unfortunately it seems the lines have become blurred on this subject.
