Military “Transition” Center Coming to Warner Robins
The State of Georgia and AT&T have announced they will join to build a center for higher education programming dedicated to military veterans and their families in the transition to civilian careers.
The professional development facility is on 44 acres of land directly across from Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA.
Once fully completed the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia will provide veterans with educational services including training and job placement. The goal is to cut the time necessary for transition from military service to the workforce.
“They are highly trained to do specific jobs while in service to our country, but once they get home, it can be complicated to parlay those talents into a job. Our state government strives to ease that transition, and I`ve signed legislation into law that does just that. AT&T`s initiative helps those who fought for us, but it`s also a savvy business move because it will bring in highly skilled, highly disciplined workers who will serve the company well,” said Georgia Governor Nathan Deal.
