Once completed, the tire plant will create 300 jobs for the Macon area.

Kumho Tire is ready to finish what it started in Bibb County. The tire company began to build a manufacturing plant in Bibb County back in 2008, however, when the recession hit, Kuhmo Tire put the plant on hold.

The Macon Telegraph released in an exclusive interview that Kuhmo Tire is ready to proceed and make a $225 million investment to the plant bringing more than 300 jobs to the area. It is going to be a major plant that will make passenger tires for car manufacturers. The plant is expected to be about 1 million square feet and take at least 18 months to build.
