Perhaps U.S. Rep. David Scott saw fellow U.S. Rep. Drew Ferguson host his own job fair and felt he could top it?

Rep. Ferguson’s job fair brought more than 70 employers to West Georgia Technical College earlier this month.

Rep. Scott’s job fair has more than 140 employers seeking to fill 6,000 positions! Click here to register for the event, and make sure you’re dressed for success and have several copies of an updated resume.

Don’t wait to register as the event is THIS FRIDAY, April 28th from 10:00-3:00 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.

This is the 14th annual edition of the job fair, and as Scott said in an email to the Marietta Daily Journal, it’s coming at a time when people need good jobs.

“The economy here in Georgia has shown signs of improvement in recent months, with a report from the Georgia Department of Labor just last week indicating Georgia’s unemployment rate dropped in March to its lowest rate since December of 2007. However, the unemployment rate remains stubbornly high for many people in our community,” Scott said.

The Georgia economy has finally reached numbers seen before the Great Recession hit. The latest jobs report has the state sitting at 5.1% unemployment, but that still leaves more than 250,000 Georgians out of work and actively looking for a job.

A career and job fair on the scale Rep. Scott is hosting is a perfect opportunity for people to find good employment.

The list of employers runs the gamut from nearly every industry in the district, but some notable names include the following:

·      Delta Airlines

·      AT&T

·      Charter Communications

·      FedEx

·      Primerica

·      Prudential

·      Six Flags over Georgia

·      FBI

Rep. Scott strongly urges attendees to use MARTA to get to the event as parking and traffic could turn into a mess. And don’t forget to optimize your resume and to brush up on your soft skills. These could be the difference between landing a new job or not.
