It’s difficult to come to terms with our favorite Sunday night pastime ending this year. While there won’t be new episodes to watch after Season 6, there’s no reason to say goodbye to friends found through a mutual interest in the Crawley family and staff. Additionally, making new friends to watch and re-watch Downton Abbey with makes the separation anxiety a lot easier. If you’re in Macon, you’re in luck.

On Saturday, January 23, 2016, the Library Ballroom in downtown Macon will play host to a gala celebration for Downton Abbey. The event will last from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., will feature a special advance screening of an episode from the final season, live music, signature cocktails and food plus a photo booth where guests can take pictures with characters from the show. (Here’s your chance to snap a selfie with the Dowager Countess!).

Costumes and attire inspired by Downton Abbey are encouraged, so definitely pull out your tailcoats, flapper dresses, or footman uniforms to join the party. A stellar outfit inspired by Lady Mary or Thomas is a great way to break the ice to meet new Downton-loving friends.

Tickets are limited and available at www.gpb.org/macondowntonparty. Proceeds from the event will be used to support television and radio programming on GPB.

If you plan on attending, please let us know how it goes!
