Sam grew up in Montclair, N.J., and graduated from American University (’15) in Washington, D.C. where he studied journalism. Sam later worked with migratory farmworker programs in North Carolina as an AmeriCorps VISTA. He worked as a reporter in Chapel Hill and Durham before moving to Georgia in 2019.
