Oconee Fall Line Technical College is hosting a large career fair and job expo Tuesday, July 24 from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

More than 60 employers will be on hand—the full list is below—and not only will attendees get to meet major employers and learn about what positions they have to offer, but they will also be able to speak to Oconee Fall Line Technical College representatives about educational options.

In fact, the college will waive the $25 application fee for the Fall 2018 semester for those looking for more education or to start a new path via the college if they register at the career fair.

As for the career fair, it’s a perfect fit for the college as many of positions fit in line with what OFLTC teaches.

“There are many local companies and organizations that are seeking employees, particularly those with the technical skills we teach at OFTC,” said Saketta Brown, OFTC Career Services and Disabilities Coordinator. “The programs we offer reflect the labor needs of our communities and during the fair we’ll have admissions and financial aid staff available to walk participants through the application or financial aid process if they’d like to enroll in one of our hands-on programs.”

Brown offers the following tips for career fair attendees:

  • Dress professionally as first impressions are important.
  • Bring several copies of your resume.
  • There will be many applicants approaching employers at the same time—remain positive and be patient.
  • Send a thank you note or email after the fair. Most candidates won’t follow up with employers afterwards and this will help make you stand out.

Here’s the full list of participants as of Monday morning.
