Governor Nathan Deal's office dropped yet another jobs and investment announcement this week.

Social Circle will be the new home of a Top Polymer Enterprise facility, leading to 70 new jobs and $15 million in new investment.

The Chinese-owned company manufactures thermoplastic elastomer, and the positions will include both manufacturing and production.

The manufacturing facility will be the company’s first one in the United States, with the first phase of operations leading to 60,000-square-feet of space with three compounding lines.

As we told you earlier this week, manufacturing jobs are in Georgia, and the need for a skilled workforce has never been more obvious.

The Social Circle announcement is further proof that manufacturing in Georgia is on the move and there will be worthwhile careers in the field in the state provided you have the necessary training and skills.

Where you can you find those skills? Well, for starters, check out the Technical College System of Georgia as well as contacting your local workforce development areas.

Each area in Georgia is unique, and the staff at the local workforce development areas can help you locate the correct path, be that in a training course for specific certifications or a TCSG program for more in-depth study.
