Nearly 80% of beauty products marketed to Black women contain health hazards, study shows

Scientists who analyzed more than 4,000 products like makeup, shampoo, hair relaxers and dyes found that 74% presented moderate to high health hazard risks. But closer to 79% of products with marketing phrases such as "for melanated skin" or certain textured hair or curl patterns contain ingredients that may be harmful.

As Georgia lieutenant governor raises cash, a possible 2026 opponent questions how it can be spent

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr raised $2.2 million for his 2026 gubernatorial bid in less than two months after he took the unprecedented step of announcing in November. Lt. Gov. Burt Jones could be Carr's top opponent in the 2026 GOP primary. He raised $1.7 million for what Georgia calls a leadership committee. The question, though, is whether Jones can use that money in a Republican primary.
