4 people shot near Georgia State University campus, school plans ‘listening session’

Four people were shot Sunday near Georgia State University's Atlanta campus. Two of the victims are students at the university. Authorities say three of the victims are in stable condition, and one is in critical condition.

Review of Georgia tax breaks starts with support and skepticism of current incentives

Georgia lawmakers are beginning a review of state tax breaks. Some leaders hope to reduce breaks to lower the state's overall income tax rate. Other officials say business tax breaks are important to recruiting industry. The review could lead to legislation next year.

Pope died on Jan. 18 in Arlington, Texas, where she moved from Atlanta to be with her daughters after her health began to fail in 2021, according to her family's obituary.
