The five-star Hotel Saratoga was heavily damaged after an explosion in Old Havana, Cuba, on Friday.

At least 8 people have died in an explosion at a Havana hotel

Dozens were injured in the blast that ripped away large sections of the outer wall at the Hotel Saratoga, a 19th century structure. A gas leak was the suspected cause of the explosion.

Cuba has one of the world's highest COVID vaccination rates, with more than 85% of the nation fully immunized and kids as young as 2 getting inoculated. And it's done so using homegrown vaccines.
