The Atlanta Falcons have named former longtime quarterback Matt Ryan to the team's newly created role of president of football.

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank has revealed in a letter to fans that Sunday night’s firings of coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot are not the only moves planned in an attempt to end the team’s streak of eight consecutive losing seasons.

The Atlanta Falcons have fired coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot. The team announced the moves hours after completing its second straight 8-9 finish under Morris and eighth consecutive losing season. 

The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation announced they are granting funding totaling $6.3 million to six Metro Atlanta school districts over three years. The funding will increase access to sports at the middle school and high school level.
