On behalf of the entire GPB Sports team, we would like to thank you for watching and supporting the GHSA Basketball State Championships on GPB.  To put a wrap on the 2023 season, here is our GPB All-Finals Girls Basketball Team from the eight championship games.

Most Outstanding Player

Crystal Henderson - Kell – Led the Longhorns to the Class 5A championship in 57-36 win vs. Warner Robins.  Henderson scored a tournament-high 29 points with 8 rebounds (5 offensive), 6 assists and 7 steals while shooting 11-for-23 field goals, and 6-for-7 free throws. 

First Team

Jessica Fields – Mt. Paran – Led the Eagles to the Class 2A championship in a 67-44 win vs. Banks County.  Fields scored 23 points with 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 4 steals while shooting 8-for-12 field goals and 7-for-7 free throws. 

Ciara Alexander – Mt. Paran – Led the Eagles to the Class 2A championship in 67-44 win vs. Banks County.  Alexander scored 26 points with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks and 2 steals while shooting 12-for-16 field goals and 2-for-4 free throws. 

Janaye Walker – Baldwin – Led the Braves to a Class 4A State runner-up finish in 51-47 loss vs. Griffin.  Walker scored 21 points with 19 rebounds (7 offensive), 3 assists while shooting 8-for-13 field goals and 5-for-10 free throws.

Tyana Dorsey – Clinch County – Led the Panthers to the Class A Division II championship with 45-42 win vs. Lake Oconee Academy.  Dorsey scored 19 points with 20 rebounds (9 offensive) while shooting 9-for-12 field goals and 1-for-2 free throws. 

Mataya Gayle – River Ridge – Led the Knights to the Class 6A championship with 68-50 win vs. Lovejoy.  Gayle scored 25 points with 9 rebounds (3 offensive), 5 assists while shooting 11-for-19 field goals and 3-for-4 3field goals. 

Second Team

Jakerra Butler – Hebron Christian – Led the Lions to the Class 3A championship with 68-36 win vs. Lumpkin County.  Butler scored 16 points with 13 rebounds (4 offensive), 2 blocks, 3 steals while shooting 6-for-9 field goals and 4-for-6 free throws. 

La’nya Foster – Lovejoy – Led the Wildcats to a Class 6A runner finish in 68-50 loss vs. River Ridge.  Foster scored 16 points with 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks and 7 steals while shooting 6-for-13 field goals and 4-for-5 3field goals. 

Aaliyah Duranham – Griffin – Led the Bears to the Class 4A championship in 51-47 win vs. Baldwin.  Duranham scored 20 points with 7 rebounds (4 offensive), and 3 steals while shooting 8-for-18 field goals, 2-for-4 3field goals and 2-for-2 free throws. 

Sa’Mya Wyatt – St. Francis – Led the Knights to the Class A Division I championship in 76-for-74 overtime win vs. Galloway.  Wyatt scored 27 points with 10 rebounds (4 offensive), and 2 steals while shooting 11-for-17 field goals and 5-for-5 free throws. 

Nya Young – St. Francis – Led the Knights to the Class A Division I championship in 76-74 overtime win vs. Galloway.  Young scored 21 points with 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals while shooting 8-for-16 field goals, 2-for-4 on 3-pointers and 3-for-4 free throws. 

Third Team

Diana Collins – Brookwood – Led the Broncos to the Class 7A championship in 43-39 win vs. Norcross.  Collins scored 21 points with 6 rebounds, and 2 steals while shooting 7-for-10 field goals and 7-for-8 free throws.

Tianna Thompson – Galloway – Led the Scots to a Class A Division II State runner-up finish in 76-74 overtime loss vs. St. Francis.  Thompson scored 23 points with 4 offensive rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while shooting 5-for-15 field goals and 13-for-15 free throws. 

Veronaye Charlton – Norcross – Led the Blue Devils to a Class 7A runner-up finish in 43-39 loss vs. Brookwood.  Charlton scored 17 points, 8 rebounds (4 offensive) with 2 steals while shooting 7-for-16 field goals and 3-for-5 on 3-point field goals.

Aubrey Beckham – Hebron Christian – Led the Lions to the Class 3A championship with 68-36 win vs. Lumpkin County.  Beckham scored 16 points with 6 rebounds (3 offensive), 6 assists and 2 steals while shooting 7-for-13 field goals and 2-for-2 free throws.

Jada Williams – Lake Oconee Academy – Led the Titans to a Class A Division II runner-up finish in 45-42 loss vs. Clinch County.  Williams scored 16 points with 4 rebounds (3 offensive) and 3 steals while shooting 6-for-17 field goals, 2-for-7 on 3-point field goals and 2-for-2 free throws.
