There’s a new No. 1 team in Class 4A in the GPB Sports Top 10 Rankings.

Marist, which was ranked first earlier this season, moved up a spot to replace Jefferson, which dropped an 11-6 decision to unranked North Oconee.

Marist (7-1) was No. 1 earlier in the year until a 14-9 loss to Class 5A Woodward Academy on Sept. 3. The War Eagles have won six straight since then, including last week’s 33-0 victory over Miller Grove.

Jefferson (8-1) fell to No. 4 in the poll and North Oconee (7-3) entered the rankings for the first time at No. 7.

“Another upset, this time in 4A, with North Oconee beating Jefferson lends to the question of how far do you drop the Dragons,” said GPB’s Jon Nelson. “Same with Mill Creek with their loss to Collins Hill in 7A. Drop a few, but not to the bottom of the ladder."

Other teams that re-entered the rankings this week were: Montgomery County at No. 10 in Class A Public; Pacelli at N. 10 in Class A Private.
