No. 1 Buford erased a six-point third-quarter deficit and rolled to a 67-59 win over No. 2 Villa Rica, giving the Wolves the Class AAAAA girls championship for the third straight season.

Buford (29-2) outscored Villa Rica 18-12 in the fourth quarter to hand the Wildcats (32-1) their first loss of the season. 

Buford was led by Tate Walters with 16 points and Blair Wallis with 11. 

The Wolves won it with their relentless defense, forcing 29 turnovers and causing Villa Rica to commit 27 personal fouls. Buford scored 22 points off turnovers.

Villa Rica was led by Tee Windom with 21 points, including five 3-pointers. All-state center Deasia Merrill, a Kentucky signee, got in early foul trouble and scored only 11, but had 14 rebounds, eight assists and five blocked shots.
