A.J. Watts knocked in a 3-pointer to give Carver-Columbus the lead with 21 seconds left and the Tigers held on to beat Americus-Sumter 58-55 in the Class 4A boys final at the Macon Coliseum.

Watts, the Region 1 Player of the Year, finished with 19 points by making six 3-pointers and added two blocked shots and two steals. He scored 15 of his points in the second half. Watts also knocked away the inbounds pass to prevent Americus-Sumter from getting off a final shot. 

Devin Flowers added 18 and Jalen King scored 12 for Carver. 

Carver (24-5) defeated Americus-Sumter four times during the regular season after losing to the Panthers in a Christmas tournament. Carver won both region games and the Region 1 championship. 

Americus-Sumter (26-8) was led by Joshua Lusane with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Quevoluia Willoughby added 10 points and seven rebounds and Wallace Bradley added 10 points.
