Union City is set for a massive influx of fashion… and jobs.

ASOS, a London-based online retailer announced it would invest $40 million and create a whopping 1,600 new jobs in the Fulton County city.

ASOS is putting its North American fulfillment center in Union City, and will move into an existing space, which will speed up the process that usually can take years to finish.

While no timetable has been set, the onboarding of the new hires should come sooner than later, so stay tuned to Georgia@Work for any updates.

ASOS has 15 million customers worldwide and has seen strong growth in the North American market—hence the fulfillment facility. “We will use the region’s transportation network and deep pool of talent to deliver ASOS’ best-in-class service to US customers,” ASOS Vice President of Logistics Brent Dorfman said in a release.

For those who don’t know what ASOS is (raises hand) it’s a millennial-focused retailer that has its own label as well as sells name brands like Adidas, Ralph Lauren, and more.

New jobs at the fulfillment center will include positions in professional and operations management, basic operations, engineering, material handling and administration. We don’t yet know when these positions will come open, but it’s only a matter of time, so check back frequently to see any updates.
