1. Trump calls for nationwide protests. 

  • The former president called for protests as he faces possible charges in New York. 

    • The case concerns hush money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016.
  • While Trump is focused on New York, the calls for protest send a message to prosecutors around the country, including Fani Willis in Fulton County.

2. Former Texas governor allegedly sabotaged Jimmy Carter in the Iran hostage crisis.

  • Former Texas Gov. John Connally (R) reportedly met Middle Eastern leaders in 1980 to convince Iran to delay releasing American hostages in a move that would sabotage Carter's reelection campaign.
  • Carter is now in hospice care in Plains, Ga. 
    • Patricia Murphy adds that the 98-year-old sees the hostage crisis as the main reason why he lost re-election, becoming a one-term president.

3. Countdown is on at the Legislature during the final days of the session.
