GHSA 4A Final: Cartersville vs. Buford Football Fridays in Georgia
Sophomore Trevor Lawrence passed for 141 yards and the game’s only touchdown to lead Cartersville to a 10-0 win over Buford in the 4-A State Finals. Cartersville finished its season 15-0 to clinch its first state championship in 16 years. The Purple Hurricanes defense shut down Buford which had won state titles seven of the past eight years.
