There are two new No. 1 teams in the GPB Football Rankings. Collins Hill ascended to the top spot in Class 7A and Warner Robins, the reigning state champion, is back on top in Class 5A after the second week.

"I will openly admit that my top teams in each class are fairly interchangeable week-to-week," said GPB's Jon Nelson, who votes on the poll. "I look at a couple of factors each and every time out when I try to figure out what my top 10s look like. It is a combination of strength of schedule, appearance in the previous week, how dominant their wins have been and the individuals that they have leading them."

Collins Hill did not play last week, but was able to move up after Milton, the previous No. 1 team, was beaten by North Cobb 40-21. Collins Hill is led by Travis Hunter, a Florida State commit who is ranked as a 5-star prospect at wide receiver and defensive back, and quarterback Sam Horn.

"With Collins Hill, it's Hunter, Horn, big wins, and their carryover from 2020," Nelson said. "I can't wait to see how they look against out-of-state competition this weekend." Collins Hill plays Greenville (Miss.) Christian on Friday at Milton.

Warner Robins, which had been ranked No. 2, moved up a notch when No. 1 Blessed Trinity was beaten by Marist 28-13. Warner Robins’ Malcolm Brown rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns in a 50-34 win over Archer.

“I’m not going to say I’m satisfied, but I’m happy,” Warner Robins coach Marquis Westbrook said. “I think we’re about at the same point where we were last year, as far as intensity and being about to bounce back from adversity.
