Seasonal employees counting on housing at Yosemite were asked to volunteer for the park while the government was unable to onboard them at the start of the summer.
The Sierra Nevada region where the park is located experienced snowfall at over 300% than usual this past winter. Flooding may happen into May and June, the park said.
Firefighters are proactively working to protect the giant trees by deploying a ground sprinkler system and clearing any materials that could fuel the fire.
