A state Senate committee has attached a bill that would ban puberty blockers for transgender minors to a bill about opioid blockers.

Cases of Covid-19 in Georgia have declined as winter moves into spring. It's four years since the state's first reported Covid death.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Nathalie Stutzmann talks new season, conducting 'My Bolero'

Atlanta Symphony Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann is the second woman to lead a major U.S. orchestra. She joined ASO in 2022 and is in the middle of the 2023-2024 season, which debuted this week on GPB Radio and airs Thursdays and Sundays and streams across the state of Georgia on GPB Classical. This weekend, GPB TV will air the documentary, My Boléro, about Stutzmann's first time conducting the famous 1928 orchestral work by French composer Maurice Ravel.

In Godfall, the debut novel from Van Jensen, a giant dead alien made of crystals falls from space onto a small Nebraska town. As the town transforms, the local sheriff tries to identify the man behind a series of brutal killings somehow connected to the alien. The book has already been optioned for a TV series directed by Ron Howard.

Macon kicks the tires on its new amphitheater with soft-launch concert

A new amphitheater is opening on the site of the former Macon Mall. The 12,000-seat venue is meant to be a lure to the big promoters of touring acts to look to Macon. Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top are set to perform at the new space on March 24.
