The top three trusted sources for public health information are health care providers, doctors and nurses, and scientific research, according to a new poll from Gallup and Emory University.

The number of U.S. adults who identify as LGBTQ+ doubled in 12 years, new poll shows

In 2023, 7.6% of U.S. adults said they align themselves with the LGBTQ+ community, compared to 3.5% in 2012, the first year Gallup collected such metrics. That figure has grown every year since 2012.

The Gallup poll, conducted after the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, says that 55 percent of Americans now identify as pro-choice, up from 49 percent last year.

For the first time since Gallup began asking the question in 1937, fewer than half of U.S. adults interviewed said they belonged to a church, synagogue or mosque. That figure is down from 70% in 2000.
