As spring temperatures rise along with pollen counts in Georgia, the state is seeing a decline in winter respiratory infections.

While Georgia influenza and COVID-19 rates appear to be lower than last year at this time, flu circulation has reached a level that concerns some local health officials.

Cases of COVID-19 and flu have risen sharply in Georgia since the Christmas holidays, State Epidemiologist Dr. Cherie Drenzek reported Tuesday.
