Bill Nigut grew up in Skokie, Ill., just outside of Chicago. He attributes that upbringing to much of his success early in his career. Before Bill left Chicago, he covered the election of Harold Washington, Chicago's first Black mayor.

Shortly thereafter, he came to WSB-TV in Atlanta. From there, Bill spent 20 years as the national and state political correspondent for WSB-TV in Atlanta. In that role, he covered five presidential campaigns, traveling to Iowa, New Hampshire, and other key primary states in each presidential election cycle. Bill also covered the White House and Capitol Hill for WSB, commuting from his home in Atlanta when major news stories were breaking in Washington, D.C.

After WSB he joined Georgia Public Broadcasting to start Political Rewind. He led the show's nearly 10-year run of civil conversation around tough political issues.

Here in Atlanta, he met the love of his life and wife, Janece Nigut. His family rounds out with his two children, Bill Nigut Jr. and Emma Nigut. Bill Nigut looks forward to enjoying his family and making the next steps in his career.
