PHOTOS: The Aftermath of Deadly Tornado in Newnan
A Georgia town is picking up the pieces after an overnight tornado left one man dead and others injured. Coweta County officials blame the death on the EF2 storm that caused "catastrophic" damage in Newnan.
Authorities reported several downed trees and power lines in the town Friday morning. Newnan, coined "the city of homes," is also known for its historic homes. There is a rich history with the homes being used as hospitals during the Civil War.

Local businessman Mark Knox told GPB that his store, Knox Furniture, had never experienced anything like the storm. The second-generation business owner said approximately 80% of the store's roof is gone.
Newnan officials ask for donations to help those who were affected by the storm.
