Trans Activist Monica Helms Remembers Those Killed In Her Community
November 20 is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, a time where people across the world remember those who were killed because of their gender identity.
This year's remembrance comes at a time when the Trump administration is considering making changes to the legal definition of gender, which could impact more than a million Americans who don't identify as their birth gender.
Monica Helms of Marietta is a trans woman who created the transgender flag, which is now in the Smithsonian.
She sits down with Leah Fleming to learn more about the Transgender Day of Remebrance and the safety of trans people living in the South.
