About two years ago, Rachel Daniels, Victoria Bostic, Patrick Edmond, Andrew MacCartney and myself had the chance to go to Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA.

No, we didn't get to race the cars around the track... (Rachel sure did try, though!) But we did get a chance to speak with professional racer Shane Lewis, a driver in the the Petit Le Mans Cup, to find out how professional athletes try to protect themselves from traumatic brain injuries. And while we were there, I also had the chance to speak with IMSA Medical Director Gregg Summerville about the many tools, tests, tips and safety equipment that are being used to prevent and treat sports-related head and neck injuries both in the professional leagues and in high schools across the country.
