Over the weekend, Georgia Public Broadcasting's education team was awarded two Southeast Regional EMMYs at an awards ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tiny Mic, Big Designs was awarded Outstanding Achievement in the Children/Youth/Teen - Short Form category. The social media-first series shines a spotlight on the incredible creativity and ingenuity of student inventors participating in Georgia Tech's K12 InVenture Prize. Hosted by Ashley Mengwasser, this fun, engaging series features student teams across Georgia who share the process of developing their inventions and the importance of youth entrepreneurship. 

Tiny Mic Big Designs was written, produced, and hosted by Ashley Mengwasser, shot and edited by Ashlyn Süpper, and produced by Mary Anne Lane.

Georgia's Forests Live Exploration took home a regional EMMY for Outstanding Achievement in the Informational/Instructional - Long Form category. This program was the 12th Live Exploration special and was the third Live Exploration to win a regional EMMY.

Developed in partnership with the Georgia Forestry Foundation, Georgia's Forests Live Exploration took students on a journey through the #1 forestry state in the country. Students learned about the life cycle of a tree, uncovered a myriad of forestry products, and explored what it takes to manage a sustainable working forest. During the program, students participated in pop quizzes and Q&As with forestry experts.

The Regional Southeast EMMY Chapter is one of 19 chapters throughout the United States identifying and celebrating television excellence at the local and regional level of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Our Chapter represents television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from each of our markets, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Asheville, NC.
