There are only minor changes in the GPB Football Rankings this week as the regular season winds to a close.

The only first-timer to appear in the rankings is Upson-Lee, which made its debut at No. 10 in Class 3A. The Knights (8-1) have won five straight and beat Peach County 21-20 on Friday. Coach Justin Elder’s team finishes the season on Friday at home against No. 4-ranked Mary Persons, with the winner earning the Region 2 title.

Several teams that have been ranked were able to return to the top-10 this week: Parkview is No. 7 in Class 7A after its 28-21 win over then-No. 6 Newton on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia (click here to watch the replay); Milton is No. 10 in 7A after a 45-14 win over South Forsyth; Dalton is No. 9 in 5A after its 28-21 win over then-No. 7 Calhoun; and Columbia is No. 10 in 2A after its 38-6 win over Redan.

Cook dropped out of the Class 2A rankings after it was forced to forfeit five games because of an ineligible player. The action dropped the Hornets to 1-7 and is likely to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2000.

The No. 1 teams remained unchanged: Mill Creek in Class 7A, Gainesville in 6A, Cartersville in 5A, Benedictine in 4A, Calvary Day in 3A, Thomson in 2A, Prince Avenue Christian in Class A Division I and Schley County in Class A Division II.
