Former Grayson football coach Adam Carter returns home with his new team, the Lowndes Vikings, when the Rams host this week’s GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia broadcast.

Kickoff will be Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Carter spent four seasons at Grayson, going 45-9 with a state championship in 2020. Carter also took the Rams to the semifinals in 2021. He coached at Creekview and Bradwell Institute prior to his time at Grayson and has a career record of 64-17.

Carter replaced Zach Grage, who was fired after going 5-6 in his only season and has responded with a 3-1 start under Carter. The Vikings lost 42-30 to East Coweta on Friday after opening the season with three victories.

No. 10-ranked Grayson is 3-1 under first-year coach Santavious Bryant. He is a former assistant at Buford who spent last season as defensive coordinator at Gainesville High School. The Rams did not play on Friday but have won three straight since losing the season opener 49-27 to Walton.

Lowndes leads the all-time series 3-2. The Vikings have won the last three meetings, including 24-14 in 2022.
