There were no changes at the top of the GPB football rankings this week, as all eight top-ranked teams held their positions.

\Ware County remained No. 1 in Class 5A despite a loss to Benedictine, the No. 1-ranked team from 4A.

Buford, which took last week off, remains the No. 1 team in Class 7A. The Wolves (3-0) will be highlighted this week on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia broadcast. Buford will host Carver-Atlanta, which dropped out of the rankings this week after its 29-14 loss to Stephenson.

“Buford’s recruiting list is silly-stupid,” said Matt Stewart, the play-by-play announcer for Football Fridays in Georgia and a voter in the poll. “They have 28 players with offers and all these players are offered by power conferences. So many prospects.”

The other No. 1 teams remained in place: Gainesville in 6A, Ware County in 5A, Benedictine in 4A, Cedar Grove in 3A, Thomson in 2A, Prince Avenue Christian in Class A Division I and Schley County in Class A Division II.

Newcomers to the rankings this week include Douglas County in 6A, Greater Atlanta Christian in 5A and ACE Charter in 2A,
