GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. Here are our nominees for the week of August 28, 2023.

 

Braylon Phillips, Bainbridge, OLB, JR

Braylon Phillips is a 6'1 195 LBS Junior Outside Linebacker at Bainbridge High School. The varsity starter led his team with 62 tackles during his Sophomore year, and was named 2nd Team All-Region LB in Class 1-4A. A multi-sport athlete, Phillips also competes in Track & Field, where he participates in the 300 hurdles, 4x200 Relay and High Jump, in which he finished 3rd in his region. Along with sports, Phillips has a passion for constructional engineering and loves to assemble large lego figures. In his free time, he likes watching football and wrestling, spending time with his grandparents, his dog "Mars" and his friends.

Michael Johnson, Dutchtown, QB, SO

Mike Johnson is a 6'1 170 LBS Sophomore Quarterback at Dutchtown High School. In his last game (vs. Tift), he was 10 for 16 for 176yards with two TD's, and had 10 carries for 72 yards with one TD. In two games played this season, he is 14/23 for 250 yards, with five TD's, and zero interceptions; he has 23 carries for 150 yards and two TDs. Starting as a freshman, he led the Bulldogs to the semifinals, where they lost to Ware County and finished with a 12-2 record. The Dual Threat QB runs a 4.4 40 yard dash, has a 3.0 GPA, and is also a pitcher on the baseball team. Johnson is big on family, and loves being around his mom and sister who is an athlete as well.

Ryan Johnson, Stockbridge, WR/KR, SR

Ryan Johnson is a 5'11 166 LBS Senior Wide Receiver and Kick Returner at Stockbridge High School. The senior was named Class 4A All-Region player and Wide Receiver of the Year for the Tigers with a career total of 40 catches and 10 touchdowns. The multi-sport athlete also competes in Track & Field, where he was awarded the Region 4A 400m Hurdles champion. Johnson has a 3.0 GPA, and loves volunteering locally with different organizations and outreach programs. In his spare time he likes reading novels, playing with his poodle Bainx and watching YouTube.

Knowledge Williams, Mitchell County, ATH, SR

Knowledge Williams is a 6'2 175 LBS Senior Athlete at Mitchell County High School. Playing both sides of the ball, during his junior year he had 756 receiving yards and six touchdowns on offense, and 22 tackles and six pass breakups on defense. As a senior, he started the season off strong with an interception on defense in a hard-fought 3 to 0 loss for the Eagles. Willing to step up when needed, he played quarterback in the second half of their week 2 game vs. Worth County where he ran for a 90-yd touchdown. A lover of sports, Williams also plays basketball and runs track for the Eagles. His hobbies include spending time with family and friends, and training to stay in shape. He currently hold no offers at this time.

Jashaun Manghane, Long County, QB, SR

Jashaun Manghane is a 5'10 182 LBS Senior Quarterback at Long County High School. Frequently transferring schools due to the military, Manghane over came that obstacle each time and earned the starting job at a bout of schools. As a junior he threw for 2,008 yards, 23 TDs and five interceptions, while rushing for 228 yards and four TDs. This season he was named Gridiron Player of the Week and First Team All- District for 11-5A D2.  His stats in two games are 188 yards passing and one TD, with 60 yards rushing and one TD. Outside of football he runs track. He holds a 3.3 GPA. His hobbies include gaming and hanging out with friends.

Ka’Ori Wallace, Worth County, S/WR, SR

Ka’Ori Wallace is a 5'11 157 LBS Senior Safety and Wide Receiver at Worth County High School. A defensive starter for the Rams, Wallace has overcome injuries and seasons of setbacks to finally get the chance to play to his first year of varsity football. He says he loves his teammates, coaches, community, and is extremely grateful for his new environment. A huge sports lover, he also enjoys track, cross-country, and basketball. The academically sound National Honor Merit Scholar has a 4.3 GPA and is a member of the Beta Club. In preparation for college, he is a Dual Enrollment participant, where his major is welding and fabrication.
