No. 1-ranked Hughes will try to clinch first place in Class 6A Region 5 when the Panthers travel to South Paulding on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Hughes (8-0, 5-0) is coming off a 41-0 win over Newnan. The Panthers, coached by Daniel “Boone” Williams is led by quarterback Prentiss Noland. Other top players include Georgia commit offensive tackle Johnathan Hughley, Auburn commit defensive back Terrance Love and four-star tight end Jelani Thurman.

South Paulding (6-2, 5-0) ran past Alexander 56-35 on Friday. The Spartans are led by senior running back Jamarion Wilcox, who is approaching the 1,500-yard rushing mark.
