About the Indians: Lumpkin County is the two-time Region 7 champion and has won 27 in a row. The Indians only loss came to Buford on Nov. 22. The team is led by Region 7 Player of the Year Mary Mullinax, who is fully recovered from a torn ACL suffered two years ago. Three other girls were named to the all-region team: Averie Jones, Lexi Pierce and Kate Jackson. Lumpkin County lost to Cross Creek 46-45 in the championship game last year and is seeking its first state title.

Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans

How they got there: Def. White County, def. Johnson Savannah, def. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, def. Pierce County.

About the Spartans: GAC won the Region 5 championship. The Spartans are led by Region 5 Player of the Year Kaleigh Addie, who averages 23.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.5 steals. Others on the all-region team were Jaci Bolden (16 points, 4.2 rebounds), Trinity Thomas (8.9 points, 7.9 rebounds) and sophomore Myla Benton (4.6 points, 6.0 rebounds). GAC has won nine state championships, most recently under Guarneri in 2020.
