The 2021 season was grand for high school football in Georgia, with eight champions crowned at Georgia State’s Center Parc Stadium.

Only two schools were able to finish the season with perfect records: Collins Hill in Class 7A and Trinity Christian in Class A Private.

Only two school were able to repeat as state champions: Buford in Class 6A and Warner Robins in Class 5A. It was the third consecutive state championship for Buford, where coach Bryant Appling became the first man to win titles in his first three seasons as head coach.

Four teams were able to improve from runner-up status in 2020 to state champions in 2021: Collins Hill in Class 7A, Fitzgerald in Class 2A, Brooks County in Class A Public and Trinity Christian in Class A Private.

Trinity Christian and Collins Hill both won their first state football championships. Fitzgerald won its first since 1948.
