Aaron Gates caught a 65-yard touchdown pass from David Dallas on the first play of the game to set the pace and No. 1-ranked Trinity Christian rolled to a 55-28 win over No. 3 Prince Avenue Christian in the Class A Private championship on Thursday.

It was a reversal of fortune for Trinity, which lost in the title game to Prince Avenue in 2020. It was the first state title for the Lions (14-0).
