The postseason on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia begins with the broadcast of the Class 5A first-round showdown between state-ranked Coffee and Creekside.

Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. from The Swamp in Fairburn.

The No. 8-ranked Coffee Trojans (8-2), the third-place team from Region 1, lost only to Warner Robins and Ware County during the regular season. Coffee did not play last week.

The No. 6-ranked Creekside Seminoles (8-2) are the second-seeded team from Region 3. They lost their final game of the season to Woodward Academy in a contest to determine the region championship.

Coffee has been a model of consistent success under coach Robby Pruitt. The Trojans reached the state semifinals in 2020 and lost 24-17 to Cartersville. They reached the title game in 2016 before losing to Lee County.

In five season, Creekside coach Maurice Dixon built a 0-10 program into a contender. The Seminoles have won two region championships since his arrival. Creekside won the state championship in 2013.
