Make That Kid An Offer

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Here are our nominees this week.

 

Noah Ross, Woodland, QB, SR

Ross is a 6'1 195 LBS Quarterback at Woodland High School. Ross has a great arm, accurate with his passes, and is a quick decision maker in the pocket. He is a tremendous leader on and off the field. He has a 3.7 GPA, runs a 4.63 40-yard dash, squats 445 LBS and benches 275.

Carlos Cervantes, Marietta, MLB, SR

Cervantes is 5"10 220 LBS Middle Linebacker at Marietta High School. He has been a part of the varsity football team since his freshman year. Last year he led the Marietta Blue Devils defense with 89 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and one PBU. Cervantes’ awards include 2020 First Team All-Region Defense and 3X USA National Select Team. In addition, he has won the Iron Blue Devil Award ALL three years while at Marietta. Cervantes is also currently in first place for tackles in the 7A region, where he averages 13.5 tackles a game. He committed to Presbyterian College this summer. Off the field he maintains a 3.7 GPA.

Cody Williams, Dade County, OLB/ ILB/ FB, SR

Williams is a 6’1” 200 LBS Outside Linebacker, Inside Linebacker and Fullback at Dade County High School. His current stats from two games played this season, are 25 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, 22 carries for 175 yards and two TD’s. He is also on the wrestling team for Dade County. Williams has been recognized as a 7A-A First Team Defense Linebacker, All-State Honorable Mention by Recruit Georgia, and Georgia State Champion Wrestler.

Chip Cooper, Worth County, QB, JR

Cooper is a 6’0” 170 LBS Quarterback at Worth County High School. He started the last four games of the 2020 season for the Rams, where he threw for 1,100 yards and 10 TD's. Cooper was named First Team All Region QB for 1-AA. This season, he has picked up where he left off in 2021 and has thrown for 619 yards (9 TD's) and rushed for 356 yards through his first three games. In addition to football, Cooper is also a standout baseball player for the Rams and was named First Team All Region Centerfielder. Off the field, he maintains a 3.8 GPA.

Bryce Hicks, Carrollton, RB/ CB, SO

Hicks is a 5’7” 165 LBS Running Back and Cornerback at Carrollton High School. He also is a part of the basketball and track team, where he was named a track state champion in 2021. Hicks earned a Freshman Football Letter and Freshman Academic Letter. As a freshman he worked his way up to become a starting varsity running back, but unfortunately sprained his ankle and was out for most of the 2020 football season. Now in 2021, he is a starting Cornerback and Running Back with great vision, agility, and allusiveness.

Lucas Kulig, Collins Hill, G/LB, SR

Kulig is a 5’11” 215 LBS Guard and Linebacker at Collins Hill High School. Throughout his high school football career, he helped lead the JV team to an undefeated season in 10th grade and made his first appearance for the varsity team in the 7A State Championship game last year. This season, Kulig has allowed zero sacks and allowed only one all last year. Off the field, he has a 4.21 GPA and a 1350 SAT score. He has been courted by the National Society of High School Scholars and was in F.B.L.A. for 2 years. In addition, he has gotten scholar athlete awards every semester in high school and  lettered as a freshman in wrestling and varsity football. He says no matter what happens with football, he will be attending college to become an Engineer, but he has a passion for the sport and would love to play at the next level.

Baxter Wright, Gainesville, QB, SO

Wright is a 6’2” 160 LBS starting Quarterback at Gainesville High School. During his game against Flowery Branch, he was 21-23 with 297 passing yards and had 77 rushing yards. Wright is also a part of the Gainesville varsity baseball team as a Catcher. Off the field, he maintains a 3.7 GPA, is a member of both the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Chess Club.

Tripp Slaton, Newnan, MLB, SR

Slaton is a 6’1” 205 LBS Middle Linebacker at Newnan High School. Last year, he had 57 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, six sacks, 11 hurries, two blocked kicks and one safety. Slaton is also a part of the Newnan lacrosse team and was the captain during his junior year. His stats this season include: 31-total tackles (24 solo), seven assists, 10.3-tackles per game, two-tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one blocked punt. Off the field, Slaton maintains an average, scored a 29 on his ACT and is ranked 35 of 496 in his senior class. In addition to his athletic and academic activities, he maintains an active volunteer life - to name a few he has volunteered with the Junior Cougar Youth Football Camp, Brookdale Nursing Home, Newnan City Church and been a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Vincent Hill, Creekside, LB, SR

Hill is a 6’2” 220 LBS Linebacker at Creekside High School. He had 14 tackles, 2 QB sacks and 3 TFL in the Seminoles 17-14 loss at Cartersville in our GPB Sports Football Fridays in Georgia season opener. For the season, Hill has 43 tackles, 3 sacks and 8 TFL in three games. The 6-1, 227-pound, senior has been offered by Stetson. Coach Maurice Dixon calls Hill the "heart and soul of the team" and says, "He's got the body to get the job done, and knows what offenses are going to do, so he can play fast."
