Make That Kid An Offer

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Here are our nominees this week.

 

JL Lackey, Hart County, RB, SR

Lackey is a 5’11” 203 LBS Running Back at Hart County High School. This year, he already has eight TD’s with over 400 rushing yards. In his game against White County, he picked up 5TD's and 200+ rushing yards. Lackey has no offers.

Jake Trebil, Wayne County, C, JR

Trebil is a 6’1” 350 LBS Center at Wayne County High School. He is currently in his third year starting for Wayne County, and played right and left guard before switching to center. Off the field, Trebil has a 3.7 GPA and volunteers as a flag football coach for Wayne County’s Recreation Department.

Trejan Landers, Coffee, LB/ FB, SR

Trejan Landers is 5'10" 210 LBS Linebacker and Fullback at Coffee High School. He has played varsity all 4 years. During his junior year he started all ten regular season games on defense and his stats included: 102 total tackles, 49 solo, one forced fumble, averaged 8.7 tackles per game, 75 all purpose yards, and two touchdowns. Landers has received several awards including: Lifter of the Year twice, Top Linebacker in the Class of 2022, and Top Player to Watch according to @GAVarsityRivals. He also participates in track & field to stay in shape during the off-season. Landers top three strengths on the field are quick first step, tackling, and reading plays. He also is on track to graduate with honors.

Robbie Roper, Roswell, QB, SR

Roper is a 6’3” 210 LBS Quarterback at Roswell High School. In the offseason, he received offers Western Carolina and Morgan State. After a phenomenal start to his 2021 season, Roper is now getting looks from Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and Vandy. Through Roswell’s first two games, he was leading GHSA 7A in passing with 770 yards and 10 TD passes. Among his many honors, Roper was the GPB Sports Cotton Commission’s Player of the Game last year in the Hornets win over Cherokee. He was selected as all-region, all-state, MVP of Rusty Mansell’s 247 Sports Camp and named Buck Belue’s Player of the Week.

RJ Bryan, Brantley County, LB, Senior

Bryan is a 6’2” 204 LBS Linebacker at Brantley County High School. Bryan has a nose for the football and leads his team in tackles. He was selected 1st Team All-Region Linebacker during his sophomore and junior seasons. This season Bryan is averaging 13.5 tackles a game. He has been selected as a 2nd team All-American '21 EXOS Select 50 Linebacker, named Defensive Skill Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year for the Brantley County Herons and honorable mention in the state of Georgia. Bryan is excited about playing this season, in hopes of continuing his education and playing in college.

Ahmad “Aj” Brown, Crisp County, QB/FS/WR, JR

Brown is a 6’1/2” 195 LBS Athlete at Crisp County High School. He plays a variety positions including QB, FS, and WR. From non games last season, Brown obtained a 61/127 composition, 580 rushing years, 3 TD’s and 1546 all-purpose yards from nine game. In addition to football, Brown is also a part of the varsity basketball and track team. Off the field, he maintains at 3.3 GPA. He is a huge math lover and plans to major in the subject in college.

Riley Slaughter, Roswell, OLB/ MLB, SR

Slaughter is a 6’1” 212 LBS OLB and MLB at Roswell High School. He is a dual sport athlete, playing as a linebacker on the varsity football team and a catcher on the varsity baseball team. Slaughter is a leader on and off the field and has scarified his time to make sure that his teammates make it to practice and grow as young men. He comes from a football family. His grandfather and volunteer football coach, Ron Gardener played in the NFL in the 80’s. Slaughter also has the opportunity to share a field with his younger brother Nolan. After graduation, he has his sights on attending college where he would ideally like to play both football and baseball, while studying Business and Marketing.

Mike Miller, Georgia Christian, QB, SR

Miller is a 6’1” 240 LBS Quarterback at Georgia Christian. He played for both Valdosta and Douglas County before transferring to Georgia Christian. With his size and ability, Miller will no doubt lead the team to new heights, as well as pick up some offers along the way!
